Anyway, I'm caring, where are the pictures, lah? Re: 8050 in PN Bollocks! - Coyote - 31-Oct-2007 Yeah, come on where is the photos. Re: 8050 in PN Bollocks! - PNR5004 - 01-Nov-2007 I will try to get another shot to post. I just deleted it as it was a private mail. Will ask for another copy to post. Brad Re: 8050 in PN Bollocks! - KRviator - 01-Nov-2007 8050, or 8005? 8005 is on the Chullora Workshops fuel point as of yesterday, being outfitted. And I must say, I'm very disappointed in the upgrade, particularly as they are spending well over a million dollars per unit. I've got some photo's on my phone, as soon as I can get the computer to talk to it, I'll upload them to fotopic... Certianly looked klike 8050 outside Kelso painted, but then I was somewhat cuntoxed at the time of viewing said photo Certainly the Digest editor said 8050 to and comment on how she was also the first bloody 80 in theat god awful disgusting Freighrail blue guff Re: 8050 in PN Bollocks! - Timmaaayyyyyyy - 01-Nov-2007 Yep, definitely 8050. In the photo, the yellow looks too much! Oh well Re: 8050 in PN Bollocks! - Mike_in_the_west - 01-Nov-2007 As long as it keeps its 251 engine, I dont mind what colour it is. How is the million dollars + being spent? Surely it would *almost* be cheaper to buy a completely new locomotive (3 million or so) and it would last another 30 years. It is certainly keeping its current lovely ALCo donk. No reason why they can't get an extra 30 years out of them. Other locos are reaching 50 in style. In the case of 8050, she is younger than some 81 class and I suspect they will be around for a long time to come. Brad Re: 8050 in PN Bollocks! - KRviator - 02-Nov-2007 Couple of hundred thousand to rebuild / remanufacture the bogies, wheels and TM's, a few tens of thousands for a cab overhaul, few more tens of thousands for a repaint and the rest touching up the engine room. As for cab upgrades, all we've got is a CD player, fridge, downlight and fluro cablights now. Oh, and electric wipers. ![]() But the front of 8005 looks quite nice, kinda like a bandicoot EMU. Yellow with the black band around the windows. |
