The ARHS rollingstock was moved to the sidings next to UGL at the Bohle a couple of years ago. I believe Aurizon is going to donate some track and track crews to do some work at the ARHS site.

Around Townsville there's quite a few locations where you can get close enough to a loco cab for a chat without entering the corridor, at least through chainlink fences. NQ crews are a pretty friendly...

2814 was the loco. Don't know about damage, but in a similar incident in 1997, 2808 received a new frame and more or less 100% rebuild by UGL...I doubt Aurizon will go to that much trouble this time.
