Certainly has all the looks of a 'Lamp Room,' Frank...Low height, and internal shelving...and yes, on the Helidon-bound Platform (remains.)

This was the door of the Lamp Room, opened inwards against the front wall.

All that remains on the Ipswich-bound side.

Thank-you, 'RangeRider', Dodger, Hugh, Sulla and Patchy for the kind words...
Pleased you're enjoying the photos.

Sure...But there's no particular 'set of numbers' that assures a good outcome.
Control over exposure is the key, I think.
Most cameras have the ability to select a 'Scene' setting...Landscape is one I use on both Canon DSLRs and Sony cameras to add an extra degree of saturation and brightness.
The Sony NEX-7 has a unique 'Trinavi' control setup, which very easily allows minor adjustments to aperture and 'over and under' f stops, viewed 'live' either through the electronic view finder or on the screen display on the camera back. This ability lends itself more to when you're ahead of the game, waiting patiently for a train to arrive and you've had the opportunity to take some test shots in anticipation.
'Fast lenses', say around 1.8 with low-light ability, are an extra joy to use.
I'll 'back-fill' the images in this storyboard, if you like, with the EXIF data to give you some idea of settings used on this day. (Many of the images taken during this day were, in reality, taken during the time of day when I believe your camera should stay in the camera bag...around the 11 'til 3 time period...so that's when you need to work hard to try to overcome the harshness of direct overhead light, and inject some 'richness' into the scene.)

Wow.

Good to see the dining car chairs have been recovered - last time I saw them was in around 2006, and they had some horrible floral type patterned covers on them if I recall correctly. Love the wooden dining car!! Big Grin

Poor old Toowoomba A Cabin is such a sad sight though Sad Would be a great place for a club to hang out at and look after it, but with all the red tape and bureaucracy involved these days, I cant see anyone having the patience to do it.

Thanks for the pics Lindsay Smile
