Everyday Queensland Observations (now with added trams)
There seems to be a concerted effort to reduce the Clyde numbers in Townsville at present. Soon you'll only see them on shunts only. Not looking forward to working sugar trains with 2800's next year if this eventuates. They ain't that crash hot to shunt with.

I also wonder how long it'll be before they start putting a 4000 on the front of 9S88 / 9L99. No need to train Pring drivers on 2800's that way, and PN have already proven that they can fit through the tippler at Cobarra. Interesting times ahead.

I'd say we'll see the next big round of changes when the Rolleston electrification is finished in the next month or two. It should free up the remaining 15 4000s at Callemondah and they'll almost certainly get spread between Pring and Stuart.

I have reported previously on the stupidity of some at Wynnum Central station but this morning's act could have ended in disaster. I always enter the rear car adjacent to the platform entrance so I see it all. 3 Qld Police ( not railway ) were waiting to board the Cleveland bound when a 20 something girl forced the gates and rain into their waiting arms. The police held up the train while she was fined, then they boarded. Shortly after my City bound train arrived and once again 2 females ( overseas uni students I think ) forced the gates and jumped onto my train without swiping their cards first. The next station was Wynnum and one of the girls opened the doors and went onto the platform to swipe her card and jumped back onto the train just as the doors were closing. She fell into the train with her leg stuck outside in the door. Pax dragged her inside just as the train started moving. Lucky her the police did not get onto that train.
Driving D17 122 for the last time on 175 down in Feb 1967 at Buranda before she was scrapped.

2200F should be stored at Cobarra now. She was to be hauled out there on 21/12/14.

Some dodgy movie magic of QR's spare carriage movement to Townsville last week - seen passing through Stuart on December 19th. Included were 'new' LAL sitters for the Inlander set.

I'm surprised that those 4000's and the phosphate wagons are still bearing QR logos!

Things always move slower in North Queensland Confusedmiley I can't blame people for still not being able to tell the difference between QR and Aurizon up here.
