Everyday Queensland Observations (now with added trams)

Todays return Westlander (loco 2471 & 4 carriages) in limbo at the Toowoomba Railway Station due to weekend line closure. Several old wooden railway bridges in the Laidley area are being replaced by concrete culverts which are supposed to let bigger flows of water through in the next major flood event - maybe time will tell.

The Westlander is being guarded by a man & dog to prevent graffiti attacks.:cop

That dog unfortunately cant take a bite out of any graffiti attacker, it could bark them to death?

There is however nothing preventing the man from doing so... :evil

2362 & 2360 (both Bronco livery) headed out of Toowoomba passed the Saleyards at 10.35am - no wagons.

Most likely to pick up the grain rake being loaded at Brookstead. Still at Brookstead around 1640 when I went through.

I imagine with the weekend shutdown there would have been rakes of wagons stowed in various places for later collection. There was a coal rake on the main opposite Dalby platform.

Some news from Townsville.

The two 4000 class locos stored in South Yard are to be put back into traffic very soon. Management have decided that they only want 4000's operating trains on the GNL. As a result, five 2800's will be placed into storage. Not too sure where they are to be stored, but 2802 has already been removed from traffic for storage.

Perhaps more 3200s? Haven't heard much about the 3200s, does anyone know what they are doing?
