Everyday NSW Sightings And Other Bollocks!

Just got a live dribbly foamer report from the Colonel

A S&S Cotton train is sitting at Cowan (08.04) and due to depart in the Sydney direction in about 20 minutes.

A conglomerate of scrap in the form of D 600 80s K will be at the head as they attempt to get another bollocksed cotton train back to the big smoke.

Twill only be going as far as Enfield where it will hide in the yard and do whatever it feels like forthwith. Presumably some part of it, without the magical combo, will end up at Botany

Hope someone is ready with a camera and a bounty of tissues

Cheers
Brad

Turned out to be D49-602-80s6-K206 and 41 wagons.
D49 shat itself around Epping with traction motor problems, 602 is dribbling fuel onto the wheels and brake blocks, and K206, well just totally shat itself.
Had a crew of 5, including one poor Werris Creek bloke who will have been on for 18 to 19 hours straight, before they get him off.
The whole train is rotting in Enfield at present.
The locos are festering in Chullora where the long suffering fitter is again attending to them.
Needed a crew of 4 to play about them, so the Newcastle blokes can try to get home as well, so 2 more new blokes came out to play.
The prevailing view is that the cotton trains have no future....so get your photos now.
Amid all the crap, it is a welcome pustule of truth bursting forth.

Well, as they say, "normal" is just a setting on a dryer. So if you stick enough people in a laundry room, someone is bound to want to violate that dryer.

If they keep failing they won't have a future!!!

Spoke to Upper Hunter 2 Control at Breeza and he told us that Scumbag's were having problems at Ardglen. Promptly told him they better get their fingers out of their arseholes and move it!

3.5hours for us from Muswellbrook to Broadmeadow, bloody ridiculous

I heard a story from a guy up north the other day.
Apparently there was great concern and worry caused last week when a Scumbag and Simpleton loco travelled all the way from Enfield to Chullora without suffering a major failure.
This sort of occurance should be seriously looked into. They can't be wasting all their time planning for the next Scumbag failure when they just go and perform faultlessly without any warning at all.

I think it was GORDON (The Splendid Engine) that once said "Its not wrong, but we just don't do it"

Cheers

Further to the PL movement, apparently these were returning to the Hunter from the steelworks trials.
I believe the trials were considered successful and that two more ones will be sent down there forthwith.
Aparently Tasrail is also expressing much interest in the PL class and would like some down there.
Could we actually see more of these built given their sudden rise in popularity?

Nothing would surprise me.....

Theirs plenty of Mk2's sitting around Werris Creek stored, I don't think the Mk3 and 4's could be converted because of the main res air tanks in the nose, where would you put them?

1067mm wheel sets on 1435mm axles would be possible, same as a C class BG to SG.

Someone actually spoke to Upper Hunter 2? Geez, he told me off last time I spoke to him because we sat there for 45 minutes without telling him we'd arrived there. Not like we were supposed to report our arrival to him though. We told North Control...

As for converting the 48's the MR tanks could be laid longtitudinally in the nose if you do away with the loo. The air brake rack could be relocated to the footplate on the #2's side and entry gained via the Driver's long end door A'la existing PL's... If they'd consider doing that to the 48's the crew's up north would be very happy. At least then you can actually see your Driver, although then he'll know when you catch a few zzz'sCool
