Blue Mountains mudslide & derailment
#1
There was a mudslide on the Main West on the Up side of Woodford about 1600. A V-set suffered a minor derailment, and for the time being the Main West is cut.

Strewth! You getting a drop of rain down there then?

How much is 'heavy' rain in those parts?

In terms of hereabouts, quite a goodly drop - and for a change the dam levels are said to be on the rise :thumb

In terms of Queensland, you'd probably regard it as a small to average shower... Confusedun

There was also a landslide on the Pelton branch line between Weston and Abermain in a location known as Chinaman's Hollow. Believe it was relatively minor, but did close the line for a while for inspection and clean up.

Here in Port Stephens, we have been having heavy showers on and off for the last week, surprised the North Coast hasn't had a landslide.

Tim
