This is amazing stuff! I didnt realise that there was electric staff sections on the old South Coast line, I see it exists around Woodridge, then again at Ernest Junction in and out of Southport (makes sense, as this would have likely been a busy section)....

The Brisbane one departed south again at 7.40 am in 1990 and arrived at Sydney Terminal at 9.40 p.m. The Murwillumbah one returned in 1990 after a 45 minute turn around time and headed back to Sydney Terminal at 9:15pm, reaching its destination at 10.35 am. The present day timetable is at http://www.countrylink.info/timetables but that does not have the Murwillumbah one of course.

The full Springbrook c1930 topographical map which covers Surfers Paradise to Tugun on the coast and west past Canungra to approx Beaudesert. Includes Lahey's Canungra Tramway as well as the Neranwood sawmill tramway. Lahey’s tramway is missing small sections. Harper Wharf is marked at Broadbeach as a jetty. Also shows Meyers Vehicular Ferry across the Nerang River to Cavill Ave as well as the Carrara Vehicular Ferry between Benowa and Carrara. Also shows the QGR South Coast railway. The direct Nerang Worongary road is shown as a stock route although, as you know, the present day M1 Pacific Motorway follows a vaguely similar route. In that era the Nerang Worongary road is shown as going via Merrimac and Carrara.
