Make up of original NG Ghan?
#1
Hi folks.

Just tracking down information regarding the make up of the original NG Ghan. The questions I want to ask is, in what order were the carriages marshalled and how many in the consist?

I believe the motive power would have been mostly NJ class?

Thanks folks.

These pics might give you some idea. I'd agree that it was mostly NJ, but as you'll see, it is indeed "mostly". It looks like everything has had a go at hauling the Ghan at some point.

And this page gives infomation regarding the fate of the ng Ghan's consist, but doesn't actually detail what a typical consist was.

Hope this helps.
